SGI - Wilderness Precision Marksmanship (Level II)

The SGI – Wilderness Precision Marksmanship (Level II) course is an advanced marksmanship course designed for the long range shooting enthusiast or hunter who possess the necessary equipment and basic fundamental skills to shoot at distances out to 1000 yards. 

Course content includes:

• Internal / External / Terminal Ballistics 
• Scope theory and how the focal planes, reticle, turrets, parallax affect long range shooting, 1 inch tube vs. 30 mm tube, 1st focal plane vs. 2nd focal plane scopes
• Atmospherics: temperature, altitude, barometric pressure, wind, angle, coriolis effect 
• Learn how different bore cleaning techniques affect your cold bore shot 
• Rifle data books and the importance of good record keeping
• You will practice proper bolt manipulation, loading, and immediate action drills
• The supported prone position and how to effectively use bipods and rear supports
• Shooting accurately under stress
• How to work as a shooter / observer team
• Range estimation exercises 
• High angle shooting
• Extreme range unknown distance shooting
